Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to a local Hotel
Arrive: Entebbe International Airport, Uganda
Transfer: By car to a local Hotel in Entebbe
Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Once you arrive at Entebbe Airport you will be welcomed by a local representative of Nela Safaris and transferred to your hotel
Day 2: Bunyaruguru Exploration
After breakfast, check out and drive to enjoy for approx. 5-6 hours. En-route pass different regions with distinct tribes with rich cultures and tradition
Check-in at your booked lodge or campsite
Take an afternoon hike in the Bunyaruguru crater lakes region which offers breathtaking scenery for crater lakes, rock caves, opportunities for water activities, and a chance to experience the local culture.
Day 3: Kyambura Gorge for Chimpanzee Tracking
Today the forest at Kyambura gorge opens its doors for a sensational chimpanzee tracking experience.
Introduction to Chimpanzee tracking
Following the prior-tracking briefing, a walk to the gorge will then start for unforgettable adventure – hiking in the footsteps of the habituated family of chimpanzees.
En-route, the guide will interest you with amazing stories and facts about the gorge and the other inhabitants to include different species of birds and other mammals.
Upon sighting the chimpanzees, you will spend an unforgettable one hour with them as they go about their daily life: feeding, playing, grooming, and taking care of their young
After you’re tracking experience you will transfer by car to Mweya Safari lodge-Queen Elizabeth National Park (approximately 1-2 hours)
Check-in at a lodge for lunch and resting
Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for water birds and spot over 60 bird species, including the majestic African fish eagle, pelicans, and kingfishers) and wildlife viewing -up-close wildlife viewing within meters of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffaloes as they drink, bathe, or laze on the shores)
Day 4: QENP
After breakfast, check out and have a game drive to enjoy. En-route you pass through the vast savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will go in search of the tree climbing lions at Ishasha, birdwatching, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelopes
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast you’ll depart Kampala. En-route you’ll stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch. The cultural Centre illustrates the culture and traditional way of life of the local tribes in this area, including a museum, garden with indigenous trees and plants and traditional homesteads. Return to Entebbe for departure (approximately 4.5 hours)
