Guests are welcomed in Kigali by their professional safari guide and
begin the 2.5–3-hour scenic drive east to Akagera National Park. Upon
arrival, check in at the lodge and enjoy lunch with panoramic views of
the surrounding landscape. Depending on arrival time, an optional
introductory game drive may be arranged to explore the southern part of
the park. Spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the sights and
sounds of the wilderness.

Start the day with an early game drive in the northern section of the
park, where wildlife sightings are most rewarding. Look out for
elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and possibly
leopards. After returning to the lodge for lunch, embark on a tranquil
boat cruise on Lake Ihema in the afternoon. This offers a great chance
to see hippos, crocodiles, and an array of waterbirds, including the
African fish eagle and herons. Return to the lodge for dinner and
overnight.
