Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Upon
arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an English-speaking safari guide. You’ll begin your scenic drive westward to Kibale Forest National Park, a journey of approximately 5–6 hours.

You will arrive in the late afternoon and check into your lodge located near the edge of Kibale Forest. Take the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings as you prepare for the exciting chimpanzee trekking experience the following day.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

After an early breakfast, head into Kibale Forest for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—chimpanzee tracking. Accompanied by an experienced ranger, you’ll search for our closest relatives, listening for their distinctive calls in the dense rainforest. Upon finding them, enjoy up to one hour observing their behavior, play, and feeding habits.

In the afternoon, take a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, an important eco-tourism project known for its rich biodiversity. This community-led walk offers great birding opportunities (including the
Great Blue Turaco), and sightings of colobus monkeys and more. Return
to the lodge for a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most famous safari destination. The 3–4-hour drive offers
beautiful views of the Rwenzori Mountains and the crater lakes along the way.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. Later in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive through the Kasenyi plains, known for its lion prides, elephants, Uganda kob, and buffalo herds.
The diverse landscape and abundant wildlife make this a photographer’s
paradise.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Rise early for a sunrise game drive, a prime time for predator sightings.
Watch the savannah awaken as lions, hyenas, and leopards hunt, while
elephants and buffalo graze in the golden light.
After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a
natural waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is
home to one of the largest concentrations of hippos in Africa, as well as crocodiles, elephants on the shores, and over 600 bird species including kingfishers, storks, and fish eagles. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe

Return to Entebbe (approx. 6–7 hours’ drive) for your departure flight or onward travel. Your guide will ensure timely arrival at either destination.
This marks the end of your unforgettable Ugandan primate and Big 5
safari experience.

Day 6: Transfer to Entebbe

After an early morning breakfast, you will leave with wonderful memories of your time at Kibale Forest. You will transfer to Kampala/Entebbe, enjoying lunch along the way.
