Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and set off on a scenic drive north to Murchison Falls National Park. En route, a stop is made at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided on-foot rhino tracking experience giving you a rare opportunity to observe these endangered animals in their natural habitat. After lunch, the journey continues through rural Uganda, arriving at the park in the late afternoon, check in to their lodge, unwind, and enjoy dinner surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

The day begins with an early morning game drive across the savannahs of
the northern sector of Murchison Falls. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and various antelope species.
After returning to the lodge for breakfast and rest, the afternoon features a boat cruise on the Nile River toward the base of the falls.
This tranquil ride offers close views of hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife such as the African fish eagle. The boat cruise ends with a view of the powerful falls which is an awe-inspiring natural spectacle.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Visit to the Top of the Falls

After breakfast, the group travels to Budongo Forest for a chimpanzee
trekking experience. Guided by expert trackers, guests follow trails through the dense rainforest in search of habituated chimpanzee families. This encounter allows for up-close observation of these intelligent and social primates. Following lunch, the group visits the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River thunders through a narrow gorge. The panoramic views and roaring water make for fantastic photo opportunities. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early morning breakfast and optional short game drive, guests
depart for the rugged landscapes of Kidepo Valley National Park in
Uganda’s far northeast. The full-day journey offers changing scenery, from rolling hills to dry savannah and remote Karamoja plains. Stops are made along the way for meals and photography. Arrival in Kidepo is in the evening, just in time to check into the lodge, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s adventure in one of Africa’s most pristine national parks.

Day 5:  Full-Day Game Drive in Kidepo Valley National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring Kidepo Valley National Park, often referred to as Africa’s best-kept safari secret. A full-day game drive reveals dramatic landscapes, from open plains to mountain ranges.
Wildlife sightings may include lions (often spotted lounging on rocks),
large elephant herds, zebras, ostriches, cheetahs, and even elusive leopards. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise. Guests enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild before continuing their drive through Narus and Kidepo valleys. Return to the lodge in the evening for a warm meal and campfire relaxation.

Day 6:  Morning Game Drive and Cultural Tour in Moroto

After an early breakfast and a brief morning game drive, the group departs Kidepo for Moroto, located in the heart of the Karamoja region.
Upon arrival, guests check into their lodge and prepare for an afternoon cultural experience with the Karamojong people. This guided visit includes insights into their traditional dress, homesteads, cattle culture, and unique way of life that remains largely unchanged.
Traditional dances and storytelling add depth to this authentic cultural encounter. Dinner and overnight in Moroto.

Day 7:  Transfer to Jinja and Visit to the Source of the Nile

After breakfast, the safari continues southward to Jinja, a lively town situated on the shores of Lake Victoria. The drive offers beautiful scenery as the group transitions from semi-arid plains to lush river valleys. Upon arrival in Jinja, guests enjoy a relaxing visit to the source of the River Nile, where Africa’s longest river begins its journey northward.
Optional activities such as boat rides or a short walking tour along the Nile are available. Check-in at a lodge overlooking the river and enjoy a peaceful evening.

Day 8:  Drive to Entebbe and Departure

After a leisurely breakfast by the Nile, the group begins the return journey to Entebbe, passing through small towns and fertile countryside. Depending on flight times, there may be time for a quick lunch or visit to a craft market.

Guests are dropped off at Entebbe International Airport in time for their departure flight, concluding this memorable 8-day primates and wildlife safari across Uganda’s most spectacular regions.
