Upon arrival in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, guests are warmly welcomed by their group safari guide. After a short briefing, the group embarks on a scenic drive through the Rwandan countryside, crossing the border into southwestern Uganda. The journey offers spectacular views of the Virunga Volcanoes and lush highlands of the Kigezi region. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the afternoon or evening, check in to a forest lodge, and relax in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trek.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Groups are assigned to specific gorilla families and set off into the forest, trekking through dense vegetation and rugged terrain. The experience of finding and spending one hour with a mountain gorilla family is humbling, thrilling, and deeply memorable.
After the trek, return to the lodge for a late lunch and rest. The afternoon is free for relaxation or optional community visits.
